At the age of 54, Trisha Yearwood is embracing her best life. She never imagined she'd host a cooking show like Trisha's Southern Kitchen on Food Network. "Creating music has always been my favorite thing in the world," she says. "It’s what I was born to do." But nothing compares to her 13-year marriage to fellow country star Garth Brooks. "I’m madly in love with him," she exclusively shares with Closer Weekly in their latest issue, available on newsstands now. "Our friendship and respect are what keep us going."
Two of her biggest passions, Garth and music, came together in an autobiographical song they wrote, “For the Last Time,” featured on her new tribute album, Let’s Be Frank. It's Trisha's first full-length solo album since 2007. As the album was about to release, Closer sat down with the three-time Grammy winner and best-selling cookbook author to talk about her upcoming projects, her life with Garth, and why being a stepmom to his three daughters has been one of the greatest joys of her life. What Sparked the Idea to Sing Sinatra Classics?
Trisha reveals that she's wanted to create an album of standards for over two decades. "I did a tribute for Sinatra's 100th birthday, and that’s when the idea struck me to focus on him," she explains. "Recording this album was such a blast—I’ve never had this much fun in the studio!"

How Did the Original Song Come to Life?
With the title "I’m in Love for the Last Time," Trisha initially wasn't sure how to proceed. "Garth began humming a melody that sounded like it belonged in another era," she recalls. "He’s always singing when he writes, so we'd toss ideas back and forth. Over a month, the song came together. It truly represents us as a couple."
Why Does This Song Reflect Your Relationship?
The song encapsulates the realization that "now I understand why other relationships didn’t work out because this is what was always meant to be." She adds, "Garth and I hike, cook, and simply enjoy being together. I wasn’t always that kind of person, but with him, I’ve found my happiness in our relationship."

Trisha emphasizes the importance of friendship in a relationship. "Many times, people dive deep into a relationship before realizing they don’t even like each other," she explains. "Garth and I have always had a profound respect for one another, and that’s made all the difference."
