Prince Harry's Surprising Mood Shift: What's Really Going On?

Prince Harry's Surprising Mood Shift: What's Really Going On?

Let's face it—when it comes to the world of royal drama, all eyes seem to be on Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton these days. But what about Prince Harry? Is he just sitting back and watching the chaos unfold, or is there more to the story? According to royal biographer Duncan Larcombe, Harry, now 34, has been acting a little out of character lately. Instead of his usual cheerful, easygoing demeanor, he's been coming across as "grumpy and aloof." What could be causing this shift in behavior? Let's dive in and find out.

The Prince We Thought We Knew

Now, Harry has always been known as the fun-loving, down-to-earth royal. His staff loved him for it, but Larcombe recently revealed to Page Six that things have changed. "All of Harry’s staff have always thought he was fantastic, but [he and Meghan] are high maintenance," Larcombe said. He added that Harry has been acting "quite grumpy and aloof from his own inner circle of staff," which is "very unlike him." This change in behavior has people scratching their heads and wondering what’s really going on in the life of Prince Harry.

Who Is Harry Without the Smile?

Larcombe went on to explain that what people love about Harry is his genuine, heartfelt nature. "He wears his heart on his sleeve," Larcombe said. "He’s down to earth, a normal guy trapped in the royal world and he doesn’t take himself very seriously. But now he is." This new, more serious version of Harry has left many wondering if the pressures of royal life are finally catching up with him, or if there's something else at play.

While rumors have been swirling about a feud between Harry and his older brother, Prince William, over the Sussexs’ decision to move from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage, Larcombe doesn't think that's the root of Harry's mood shift. "They’re so, so close," he explained. "I think that William was just concerned that [Harry and Meghan] were getting off on the right foot." He pointed out that Kensington Palace can feel more like a "posh prison" than a home, surrounded by a public park and a museum. "The only place Harry would be able to play outside with the baby is a little courtyard," Larcombe added. Could the stress of finding the right home for his growing family be weighing on Harry?

A New Chapter for Harry and Meghan

Once Harry, Meghan, and their royal baby (due in late April) make the move to Frogmore Cottage, things might start looking up for the family. "It’s set in a delightful location, safe and secure — away from prying eyes," royals expert Dickie Arbiter noted via Twitter. "And [has] lots of space to bring up a family!" This new chapter could be just what Harry needs to find his old self again. So, while we wait for the arrival of the newest member of the royal family, let's hope Harry can shake off the grumpiness and return to the prince we all know and love.
