On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Mark shared an incredible story about how he managed to win Kelly back after they briefly parted ways before eloping in 1996. It’s a tale that’s equal parts romantic and slightly obsessive, but hey, it worked out for them!
Mark, who was 47 at the time, recounted how they both had to make an appearance on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee during their week-long separation. "We were there together, and Kelly wouldn’t even look at me. It was driving me insane," he admitted. "So, what did I do? I followed her around Central Park like a lovesick puppy. I practically stalked her. Then, we went back to my place, and the next thing you know, we got married the next day." Can you imagine the whirlwind romance they must have felt?!

I think that’s the true secret to our marriage," he added.
Kelly’s Perspective on Their Bond
Kelly, now 48, shares the same sentiment. Sure, marriage isn’t always easy, but she wouldn’t trade her life with Mark for anything. During an interview with Us Weekly last November, she reflected on their journey. "In the beginning, we’d let little things escalate out of control. You want to be right, or you want an apology. We used to argue over ridiculous things like, ‘Are you going to breathe next to me?’ Those fights were so inane!" she laughed. But despite the occasional squabbles, Kelly knows what truly matters. "I can’t picture my life without him," she said, melting hearts everywhere. Aww!
