Enough is enough. George Clooney, the iconic Hollywood star, has had it with the relentless negativity Meghan Markle continues to face. At 57, George isn't shy about expressing his admiration for Meghan, 37, who's currently seven months pregnant. During a press panel for his new Hulu series, Catch-22, George didn't mince words when he compared the scrutiny Meghan is enduring to the treatment Princess Diana faced before her untimely death.
George passionately stated, "They're just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere. She's been pursued and vilified. Imagine this: a woman seven months pregnant, being chased relentlessly, much like Diana was. History is repeating itself, and we all know how that story ended." According to Australia’s Who magazine, George's words were heartfelt and carried a weight that resonated with many who have watched Meghan navigate the complexities of royal life.

Prince Harry's Loss and George's Concerns
It's hard to forget the tragedy that befell Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, when they lost their beloved mother, Diana, in a car crash back in August 1997. Diana was only 36, and her passing left a void that has never been fully filled. Now, over two decades later, George Clooney is voicing concerns that the same fate could befall Meghan. The parallels are undeniable, and George isn't willing to stand by and watch history repeat itself.

Godfather Duties? Not Likely
During his press engagement, George also addressed the speculation surrounding him potentially becoming the godfather to Baby Sussex, due to arrive this spring. With a playful grin, George quipped, "Oh yes, I'll be godfather to the royals, apparently." But then he added, "No! I'm a father of twins, I have enough on my plate—literally!" It seems that George is content with the responsibilities he already has and isn't looking to take on more.
Meghan and Amal: A Strong Bond
It’s unfortunate that George might not take on the role of godfather because Meghan and his wife, Amal Clooney, share a close friendship. According to a source speaking to E! News, "Amal and Meghan are much more friendly with each other and talk more regularly than George and Harry do." This bond was evident when George and Amal attended the royal wedding in May 2018 and reportedly vacationed with the couple at their Lake Como home in Italy.

An insider revealed, "Meghan really looks up to Amal. They share so much in common, from their careers to dealing with the pressures of public life. Amal serves as a confidante to Meghan, offering guidance and support in navigating the complexities of her new role."
