It’s been nearly four years since Drew Barrymore called it quits with her third husband, Will Kopelman, back in 2016. Since then, the star of Santa Clarita Diet hasn't had much luck in the dating department. Life has taken her in a different direction, and she’s embracing it with open arms.
Valentine's Day Confession: Drew Barrymore Spills Her Heart
On Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14, the 43-year-old actress decided to get real with her followers on Instagram. In a candid post, Drew revealed that she hasn’t been on a date in quite some time. “I love my children first, of course,” Drew shared, referring to her daughters Olive, 6, and Frankie, 4, whom she shares with Will, 40. “But this day is just about love, period. And if you don’t have it with a romantic partner (I’m single and haven’t been able to successfully date for almost four years, so what do I know?), I truly believe in the power of the human heart,” she wrote in her caption.

A Sweet Gesture Sparks Reflection
The heartfelt message came after model Joy Seaboch left Drew a series of heart-shaped notes taped to the mirror in her trailer. “Hey D.B.,” the first note read, followed by other encouraging messages like, “You are f–king amazing … And a total BABE (duh) … Don’t doubt this even for a second today … Joy.” Thanks to Joy’s kind words, Drew took the opportunity to remind her fans that Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples. “I’m not entirely sure what Valentine’s Day is supposed to feel like,” Drew admitted. “But when I walked into my trailer at work today and saw that my friend @joyseaboch had left this on my mirror, I knew. I know this … I love my friends.”

Embracing Independence
Drew has come a long way since her split from Will. She’s learned to embrace her independence and find joy in the little things. “I’ve fought my way to a deeper happiness on my own, and I absolutely adore being independent! It just rules,” Drew gushed. “I’m also lucky enough to have two amazing young kids and a full-time job. So I’m not sitting around feeling sorry for myself. I feel incredibly grateful. But deep down, I’m still a romantic at heart.”
