Last July, during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, actor Kunal Nayyar was asked about a possible spinoff centered around his character, Raj. His reaction? “I love being the single guy. It’s so much fun. You’d get to explore new angles and have a ton of guest stars.” Sounds like he’s into the idea!
Could the Ensemble Thrive Without Sheldon?
When The Big Bang Theory began, it was all about Johnny Galecki’s Leonard Hofstadter, Jim Parsons’s Sheldon Cooper, and Kaley Cuoco’s Penny. Simon Helberg’s Howard Wolowitz and Kunal Nayyar’s Rajesh Koothrappali were part of the team but in supporting roles. Over time, though, the ensemble grew stronger, with the addition of Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski and Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler. The cast expanded, and so did the humor.
