Al Roker Hopes for a Change of Heart from Kathie Lee Gifford
Let's face it—no one wants to see Kathie Lee Gifford step away from the 'Today' show, especially her long-time colleague, Al Roker. Recently, during an interview at the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Television Critics Association winter press tour, the 64-year-old weatherman admitted that he's holding out hope that Kathie Lee might change her mind about leaving the beloved morning program.
When asked about Kathie Lee's departure, Al confessed, "Well, I think we're just kind of ignoring it. Maybe she'll change her mind." He went on to express how bittersweet the moment will be, adding, "You know, she has been such a great part of 'Today.' It's hard to think about her not being there." It's clear that Al, like so many fans, is reluctant to accept the reality of Kathie Lee's exit.

What Al Roker Will Miss Most About Kathie Lee
Al Roker also shared what he'll miss most about Kathie Lee when she finally leaves. "Just her laugh, her sense of humor, and her faith," he said. He went on to describe her as a "great combination of live broadcasting, real faith, and a wicked sense of humor." Al appreciates how Kathie Lee inspires others to be themselves. "That’s the one great thing about Kathie Lee," he explained. "She teaches by doing, not by telling you." It's clear that Al values her authenticity and the joy she brings to the show.

Will Al Roker Step In for Kathie Lee?
Now, if you were hoping to see Al Roker take over Kathie Lee's role on the popular fourth hour of 'Today,' don't hold your breath. "Listen, if they need me to fill in, I’m happy to," he joked.
