The estranged sister of Meghan Markle is clearly ruffled by George Clooney’s recent defense of the Duchess of Sussex. Samantha decided to vent her frustrations on Twitter earlier this week, taking a direct shot at the Hollywood icon.
In her now-infamous tweet, Samantha, 54, fired back at the 57-year-old Oscar-winning actor and his accomplished lawyer wife, Amal Clooney, 41. “Hey Looney Clooney! Your lawyer wife should have taught you not to make statements without full facts,” Samantha quipped on February 13. She continued by implying that George wouldn’t abandon his own mother without a valid reason, suggesting he should stay out of the family feud. “Be quiet Georgie,” she concluded with a dismissive tone.
George Clooney Steps Up for Meghan
This unexpected Twitter rant by Samantha came after George Clooney, the star of Ocean’s Eleven, publicly defended Meghan Markle, who's been under intense scrutiny since joining the royal family last year. According to Australia’s Who magazine, George expressed his concern over the relentless media coverage surrounding the Duchess of Sussex. “They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere. She’s been pursued and vilified,” he said. George went on to draw a parallel between Meghan's situation and the tragic fate of Princess Diana. “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that [Princess] Diana was and it’s history repeating itself. We’ve seen how that ends,” he warned, referring to the devastating car crash that claimed Diana's life in August 1997.

Samantha’s History of Criticism
This isn’t the first time Samantha has lashed out at someone close to Meghan. In fact, Samantha has a history of criticizing members of her sister’s inner circle, including Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. In a previous tweet, Samantha accused Doria of not playing a significant role in Meghan’s upbringing. “The world does not know that our dad raised her most of the time without the input of her mother especially from age 12 through high school and he gave her everything she had and is,” Samantha claimed. She added, “She was never raised as an only child. Truth kids! He is amazing and successful and mags lie.” Samantha further emphasized her point by stating, “Glad you love people you don’t even know. But everything that you think you know from tabloids is a lie. Dad pretty much raised her most of her life on his own and Doria was not around very much.”
