Prince Charles Spotted Without Seatbelt: A Royal Safety Reminder

Hold On Tight: Prince Charles Caught Not Wearing a Seatbelt

Alright folks, let's buckle up for this one. Prince Charles was recently snapped riding in a car without his seatbelt, just a month after his dad, Prince Philip, had a pretty scary car accident. That’s right—just when you’d think they’d all be extra cautious, Charles seems to have let his guard down. Talk about timing, huh?

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, the 70-year-old Prince of Wales was seen happily waving to the crowd from the backseat of a vehicle as he left St Dunstan-in-the-West church in London. But here’s the catch: he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. The Daily Mail caught this moment on camera, and so far, no official comment has been made about it. Can you believe it? A royal not buckling up—it’s not exactly setting the best example.

A Crash Course: Prince Philip's Recent Accident

Let’s rewind a bit. On January 17, Charles’ father, the 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh, was involved in a pretty serious car crash. His Land Rover flipped after colliding with a Kia, leaving the passenger in the other car, Emma Fairweather, with some major injuries. Just three short weeks later, Philip made the decision to hand over his license.

The investigation file for the collision has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service for their consideration.” And guess what? Queen Elizabeth's husband won’t be facing any charges for his part in the accident.

What the Prosecutor Had to Say

Chris Long, chief crown prosecutor of the Crown Prosecution Service, weighed in with this: “The CPS has carefully reviewed material submitted by the police in relation to a traffic collision on the A149 on January 17 this year. We took into account all of the circumstances in this case, including the level of culpability, the age of the driver, and the surrender of the driving license. We have decided that it would not be in the public interest to prosecute. All those involved in the collision have been informed and provided with a full explanation in writing.”

So, there you have it. We’re just hoping that Charles, Philip, and the rest of the royal family start taking seatbelt safety a little more seriously. After all, they’re role models for millions of people around the world.
