The iconic actor, known for his timeless charm and incredible career, recently joked, “When you turn 60, America weeps.” But if you ask Kevin, he’s as cool as ever. It’s hard to believe it’s been four decades since he burst onto the scene in National Lampoon’s Animal House. Despite the passage of time, Kevin insists, “I don’t feel any different. The 9’s are the tricky ones—I struggled with 29, 39, 49, 59. But the zeros? Honestly, they don’t bother me.”
And why should they? With a rock-solid marriage to Kyra Sedgwick that’s lasted 30 years, two amazing kids who’ve followed in their parents’ footsteps, and a brand-new role as an FBI agent in Showtime’s City on a Hill, Kevin has every reason to smile. Speaking exclusively to Closer Weekly during the TCA winter press tour in LA, he opened up about his outlook on life. “There’s a fork in the road at a certain point,” he said. “One path leads to bitterness, the other to gratitude. If you choose gratitude, the things you’re thankful for—and your passion for them—only grow stronger.”

Of course, no journey through life—or Hollywood—is without its bumps. Kevin admitted that he’s made mistakes along the way, but he doesn’t regret a single one. “I don’t really look back much,” he revealed in a previous interview. “I focus on what’s ahead. All the times I’ve messed up? They’re part of the journey. Take one piece out, and I might not be where I am today.”

Looking back, Kevin wishes he’d sought more advice from mentors when he was younger. And his dedication to charitable causes? That was huge.”
A Family Legacy: Travis and Sosie Follow in Their Parents’ Footsteps
Kevin and Kyra have raised two incredible kids who’ve carved their own paths in the entertainment world. Travis, now 29, has found success in music, while Sosie, 26, is making waves as an actress. “Both my kids are fiercely independent,” Kevin said proudly. “I love it because we communicate as equals now. It’s a beautiful thing.”
Celebrating Sixty: A Birthday to Remember
As the youngest of six siblings, Kevin celebrated his 60th birthday last summer surrounded by family. “We went to see the David Bowie exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, and then we all had dinner in the park,” he recalled. “It was such a special day.” When asked about his dream role, Kevin shrugged it off. “I don’t have one in mind,” he said. “I’ll know it when I see it.”
