Life as a First-Time Mom

In December, the star of "Desperate Housewives" opened up about how her life has been transformed since becoming a mother. “He’s always with me,” Eva told Us Weekly, adding that even while filming the live-action version of "Dora the Explorer" and directing episodes of "Black-ish," she’s managed to keep Santiago close by. “The great thing about the work I do is that it allows me to bring him along. I’m incredibly grateful. I get to take Santiago to work every day. It’s amazing!”

Eva’s Experience with Motherhood
When it comes to motherhood, Eva says it’s been everything she imagined and more. “It’s absolutely amazing. Every cliché you’ve ever heard about parenthood has come true, but it’s wonderful. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful little boy,” she shared. And with a husband who already has experience raising three children—Natalia, 24, and 16-year-old twins Mariana and Jose from his previous marriage with Natalia Esperón—Eva knew she was in good hands. “He’s an incredible father to his three older children, so I knew he’d be amazing with Santi,” Eva told the outlet.
Even with all the love and joy that comes with being a new mom, Eva hasn’t forgotten about taking care of herself. In early December, she admitted that she’s been working hard to get back into shape after pregnancy. “I really gave my body time to adjust after having a baby. You know, it created a human life, so I wasn’t too hard on myself about getting back into shape,” she explained. “Now I’m working out a lot more and being mindful of what I eat. My workouts are now focused on serious weight training.”
As Eva continues to balance her role as a mom, her career, and her fitness journey, we can only hope she keeps sharing those adorable pictures of baby Santi with the rest of us. After all, who wouldn’t want to see more of that toothy grin?
