It’s been a tough stretch for the loved ones of the beloved actor Luke Perry, who we lost on March 4, 2019, after suffering a massive stroke just five days earlier. His passing hit especially hard for the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210. On March 7, Tiffani Thiessen turned to Instagram to post a striking black-and-white photo of herself alongside Luke, along with a deeply emotional caption.
A Friend and Mentor: Tiffani Thiessen Remembers Luke Perry
Tiffani, who is now 45, shared, “My heart has been weighing heavy. The loss of a man who started as my co-star but quickly became my friend.” She went on to describe the day she joined the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast, a day that wasn’t easy for her. “I was stepping into a show—a family, really—that had been together for over four years. But Luke welcomed me with open arms from the very first moment. He took me under his wing and made me feel like I belonged in his TV family,” she wrote.
That sense of belonging was crucial for Tiffani. “He made me feel at home. I was coming into an established show, and it could have been intimidating. But Luke made sure it wasn’t. He was the kind of person who just had that warmth about him,” she continued.

Remembering Luke Perry: A Gentleman and a Star
Tiffani, who portrayed Luke’s character Dylan McKay’s love interest Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210, added, “He was sincere, sweet, warm, kind, professional, and funny as all heck. And most of all, the definition of a gentleman. Luke, our world has a hole in it now that you aren’t here. But heaven definitely gained you as an angel.”
Her words capture the essence of Luke’s character both on-screen and off. He wasn’t just a co-star; he was a mentor, a friend, and someone who made everyone around him feel valued. His presence in the entertainment world will be deeply missed.
Jason Priestley’s Tribute: A Bright Light Extinguished
Tiffani isn’t the only one who paid tribute to Luke Perry. Jason Priestley, another star from the hit FOX series, also broke his silence on social media. “It’s taken me a couple of days to figure out how to write this… My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared,” Jason wrote, alongside two side-by-side photos of the pair.
Jason continued, “Luke was not only a star, he was an incredibly bright light that was extinguished far too soon… and that is why I, and so many others, are in so much pain today.” His words reflect the profound impact Luke had on those around him, shining brightly in both his personal and professional life.
