Hey there, mystery lovers! Get ready for a blast from the past because teenage sleuth Nancy Drew is making her way back to television after a 40-year absence. The CW network is bringing her story to life once again with a fresh pilot featuring Kennedy McMann as the iconic detective. And here’s the kicker: they’ve also cast Pamela Sue Martin, the original Nancy Drew from the 1977-79 series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, to join the cast. Talk about a full-circle moment!
Let me set the scene for you. In this reboot, we’ll follow Kennedy’s Nancy during her first summer after high school graduation. She's got big plans for college, but life has a way of throwing curveballs. When a family tragedy strikes, she decides to postpone her education for a year. But that’s just the beginning of her adventures. As things start to heat up, Nancy finds herself smack-dab in the middle of what’s described as a “ghostly murder investigation.” And trust me, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. This mystery-loving teen will uncover secrets that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
A Ghostly Twist with a Familiar Face

According to Deadline, Pamela Sue Martin will be stepping into the role of Harriet Grosset, a small-town psychic with a knack for solving mysteries. Harriet offers her talents to help Nancy in her investigation of a murder. But here’s the twist—she ends up delivering a clue that’s so otherworldly, neither of them saw it coming. Whether she’ll stick around beyond the pilot if the series gets picked up remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: her presence adds a layer of intrigue to the storyline.

A Look Back at Pamela’s Nancy Drew Years
Back in 1977, Pamela found herself starring alongside Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. Originally, the show alternated between Nancy Drew’s adventures and those of the Hardy Boys, Frank and Joe. However, midway through the second season, the producers decided to have the trio team up to solve mysteries together. Unfortunately, as the series progressed, Nancy’s role was gradually diminished in favor of the Hardy Boys. Midway through the season, an understandably frustrated Pamela left the show, and her character was replaced by actress Janet Louise Johnson. It turns out Pamela had read the writing on the wall correctly because by the third season, Nancy Drew was completely written out, and the show was simply renamed The Hardy Boys.
