When Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond revealed the conclusion of their long-standing Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo Hotel, fans started buzzing with worry. Many wondered if the duo was parting ways due to unresolved conflicts. But in a recent interview, the "I’m Leaving It Up to You" singers set the record straight, explaining why they've decided to close this chapter of their careers.
Marie, now 59, couldn’t help but laugh when she told Entertainment Tonight, "We made the announcement, and the very next day, people were saying, 'Oh, they're fighting.' Come on! Donny and I get mad at each other all the time. That's just how sibling relationships go." She playfully pointed out that disagreements are a normal part of their dynamic, just like any other brother-sister duo.
Why Are They Saying Goodbye?

On a more serious note, Donny, now 61, opened up about the reasons behind the decision to wrap up their Vegas residency. He mused, "Why? Why not? Think about it. There are so many individual projects we want to pursue. Marie has her own career to focus on, and I’ve got mine. We never expected it to last this long—originally, it was supposed to be just a six-week contract. But here we are, 11 incredible years later."

A Bittersweet Goodbye

Marie and Donny broke the news during an appearance on Good Morning America on March 21, announcing that their iconic residency would officially come to an end. Marie shared with host Paula Faris, "There have been rumors that 'Donny and Marie' is coming to an end in Las Vegas. Well, today, we're here to confirm it—it's official." Their final performance is set for November 16.
Just a few days after the announcement, Marie took to Instagram to express her heartfelt appreciation for her brother. "This week, my brother Donny and I made it official: we will be taking our last bow this November at the Flamingo Las Vegas," she wrote. "I've always reminded myself that Donny is my brother first and my business partner second. He’s been there for me through some tough times, and I’m so grateful for his unwavering support."
Not the End of the Journey
Though they understand that saying goodbye might be tough for fans, Donny and Marie, who have been performing together for over four decades, want everyone to know something important: "It’s not the end of Donny and Marie—it’s just the end of The Donny & Marie Show." Their fans may miss them in Vegas, but the siblings assure everyone that their individual journeys are just beginning.
