Steve Harvey's Talk Show Ends As Kelly Clarkson Takes Over NBC Slot

It’s official, folks! The curtain has officially fallen on Steve Harvey's beloved talk show, Steve. The final episode was filmed on Thursday, May 9, and the remaining episodes will continue airing on NBC until June. It’s the end of an era, and it’s definitely bittersweet for fans who’ve followed the show religiously.

Now, here’s the scoop: even though the 62-year-old comedian had a fantastic run on air, NBC decided to shuffle things up. Variety reports that the network has chosen to hand over Steve's time slot to none other than The Kelly Clarkson Show. Let’s just say it’s a major shake-up in daytime TV.

How Steve Found Out About NBC’s Decision

This past January, Steve opened up about how he learned he no longer had a time slot with NBC. During an interview, he shared, “I thought I was [going to stay with NBC], until they made an announcement a couple weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the owned-and-operated NBC networks — that’s my slot.” He went on to express his feelings, saying, “I don’t know if it sold, it’s not selling like they thought, but I thought it would have been nice of them to come to me…”

He explained, “I’m just an old school guy, and I just thought that you’re supposed to just talk to people and go, ‘Look, you’ve been good business for us. This is what we’re thinking of doing, are you OK with that?’ No, you just don’t put something in the paper and say, ‘I’m just going to make this move right here,’ because it’s crazy.”

On the flip side, Kelly Clarkson is set to debut her new talk show this fall. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kelly expressed her excitement, saying, “Having my own NBC program is truly a dream come true! I love connecting with people, playing games, sharing music, and finding ways to help or give back to communities and organizations.”

She added, “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!” It’s clear that Kelly is thrilled about the opportunity, and fans are eager to see what she brings to the table.
