Barbra Streisand's 77th Birthday Bash: A Feast of Love and Yorkshire Pudding
Let me tell you something about Barbra Streisand. Recently, she's been all about British food. For her 77th birthday on April 24, she threw a party for her loved ones with a menu that included English pastries, shepherd's pie, and Yorkshire pudding. But honestly, the real highlight of her life right now isn’t the food—it's her granddaughter, Westlyn. Barbra recently shared a photo of the baby’s hands and feet on Instagram with the caption, "What’s truly important… life and love." It’s clear that Westlyn has become the light of her life.
Barbra: Ready to Embrace Grandmotherhood
Before Westlyn was even born, Barbra was already preparing herself for the role of grandma. Josh Brolin, her stepson, told People magazine, "My wife got Barbra a bracelet that said 'Grandma' on it, and she started crying. She's really into it, and I love that she’s into it. It’s like having a classic Jewish grandmother who’s completely absorbed by this grandchild thing—it’s awesome." You can tell Barbra is ready to dive headfirst into being the best grandma ever.

Her hair wild as if she has written a requiem of her own. We lift and slowly descend with the choir, then lift again with the violins, fluctuating slightly upwardly. They start to affect the cells and cries become slow whimpers and the music permeates, settling her into a trance that only the greatest written music can. It corrals you, takes you by the hand, and pulls you through a sweet breath into the throat of a heaven made of panda whispers and stuffed animal gosling. It renders you weightless and allows you to grab on to Jonathon Seagull’s wing for a moment until the Mach descent frightens you too much, so you drift onto another bar of celestial rhythms until, again, it lifts you closer and closer to the moon. You see wildernesses below as they were, going about their businesses, but there you are orbiting them at a cleft’s speed only to settle when the violin’s bow brushes with its last hair and you realize there is no wind. Your eyes are open, a slight breath coming into and from your minute nostrils, while you stare at Carl, your angel friend who comes with you wherever you go, and you see him, again, wooing you, maybe even doing a backflip with his little wings and you slightly startle out of your reverie and you smile a smile only a baby can; it is a smile that, from the pain of childbirth, can only be reached having touched something that we will seek to touch again and again for the rest of our lives.

Westlyn Changes Everything
Since Westlyn has arrived, Barbra’s life has transformed in the best way possible. Her husband, James Brolin, who’s also a grandpa himself, says, "The minute a kid comes into the room, she just changes as a person. She falls apart. She’s usually very particular about things like, 'Who put those flowers there? You moved that—it’s supposed to be on the table right there.' But the moment a child walks in, all of that just disappears, and it’s really beautiful to see someone let their guard down like that." It’s clear that Barbra’s heart melts every time she sees her granddaughter.

Barbra’s Love for Family
Barbra has always believed that family comes first. In fact, she once told Parade magazine, "It’s more important than business." And when it comes to Westlyn, it’s obvious that Barbra is all in. As one insider revealed to Closer Weekly, "She spoils the baby completely. She buys gifts online from all over the world. It’s kind of out of control, but in the cutest way possible. She just adores babies, and Westlyn is her treasure." There’s no doubt that this bond will only grow stronger with time.
